For the past year I've Been in love with whom I refer to as a Phenomenal woman. She'd been my Friend since 6grade. It was by far the most intense and precious love other than the love of my mother and the love of God that I had ever known. I first loved her in college, tried to come out as Bi-Sexual and immediately got ran back into the closet by my mother. I applaud her though because my mother never beat me for it and she never kicked me out of the house, tho I feared that. I listened to my friends and their stories, been apart of and watched parts of their lives and even envied their RL NOH8 pictures. No one should ever be told who they shouldn't love, you love who you love whether race, gender or religion. I was happy to have my friend Kristi DO this photo with me in which I call all love matters.
I was raised as a church girl so i struggled for years hiding away this part of myself and worst of all I ran from my feelings for her. I was lucky enough to spend a little over a year embracing those feelings and living in them. It took along time to except myself. One of my aunts told me that "you have to love yourself where you are" We all have struggles, battles and hurdles to overcome but you gotta love yourself through them even when no one else will.
Admittedly the only reason I came out about my feelings in the first place so that I could be with her and experience that life fully, and even though that time has come and gone I am proud of myself for the strength and growth I showed. I admire her for the phoenix that she is but now i've more than earned that title myself. I promise myself that I will be the phoenix that I was born to be.
BOTTOM LINE: Love Yourself, Love Who You Wanna Love and Never Let anyone Cause You to not be Your AUTHENTIC self, cause at the end of the day YOU have to live with you and the choices and decisions that you make.
